The Black Feminist Mixtape is a series of Hip Hop mixtapes celebrating Black women. Hip Hop is a powerful medium in itself and has the power to spread messages and influence the way people think. The history of Hip Hop has often put women down, either by trying to keep them quiet or making them a subject of sex or rape, thus silencing them. The racial, sexist and misogynist discourse towards Black women in Hip Hop is only a reflexion of their lived realities enforced by a White patriarchal supremacy.

This first volume of the mixtape series aims to shed a light of the misogyny in Hip Hop while seeking to subvert the power of patriarchy and empowering Black women.
